Yes. Sick leave certificates issued through telemedicine consultations are legally valid under the MoHFW Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020 (GSR 225(E), Gazette of India, 25 March 2020). These guidelines authorise NMC-registered MBBS and MD doctors to issue sick leave certificates after a remote consultation for conditions assessable online.
