Yes. Dengue can be diagnosed clinically based on characteristic symptoms even without a lab test — especially in the early days of illness when NS1 tests are most reliable. Under the MoHFW Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020, NMC-registered doctors can assess dengue based on symptoms: sudden high fever (>101°F), severe headache, pain behind the eyes (retro-orbital pain), severe joint and muscle pain, skin rash, nausea, and fatigue. If you have not done any blood tests, the doctor will evaluate your symptoms clinically and issue a certificate if dengue is the probable diagnosis.
